This came to mind when planning our christmas trip this year. Last year we noticed when driving on the highway Ice cold air was blowing in around the glove box if we maxed out the fan speed it seemed to quit but if the fan was on 1~3 ice cold air rushed in. Changing the vent settings didnt seem to affect it. As we drove north my wife was wrapped up in a wool blanket and I was sweating with the heat on max and vice versa when we swapped drivers.

Ideas?

Hey Charleston, This is a pretty common issue that has been discussed in here a number of times. It's a recirculation door, aka fresh air door problem. Search in this forum for "cold air in glovebox" and "recirc door fix". You will find several lengthy threads on it. Be aware that this is not a blend door issue so disregard anything you read that says it is. Good luck.
