Outside Door Handle Broke?

Im sure its here in these threads but I could not find a direct answer to my question... but my outside driver door handle is real loose with no tension and does not open my door when closed after being locked then unlocked.... Once I open the door if I leave it unlocked and close my door it opens with a little tension but it opens non the less.... Any help is appreciated...
