The outside temp gauge is displaying a very high temp reading. I see the sensor but looks difficult to get at.

shoudl not be difficult at all - located behind the gril

The steps for removal are:

Remove radiator grille.
Remove the 5 pin-type retainers
Remove the radiator air deflector
Remove the ambient temperature sensor.

Hope this helps.

It's actually a very easy fix. Look up a youtube video to get a general idea. Takes all of about 20 minutes literally from start to finish part is around 16 dollars or a high end one is about 48. "don't know how much better the one 3 times the price is" Good luck and let us know how it goes.

The forum Moderator "BigRondo" replaced his outside temp sensor a while back and has a repair post for this with instructions listed under his name on any posting you find of his. I know from painting my front grille last summer that the grille can be removed in a minute or so just by removing the plastic pegs/clips at the top edge that hold it in place. Once the pegs are out, just lift the grille and remove it. The sensor plugs into a wire harness on the passenger side.
