I have a 1999 explorer xlt 4x4 and my overhead temp & directional indicator went blank, I heard the sensor is located somewere by the back bumper, I have a green wire hanging there but, can't figure out were it goes, anybody know were this sensor is located, thanks !!!

It's behind the grill about in the center in front of the radiator. has a cone hat with a plug and 2 wires

Chances are, your circuit board in the overhead display has cracked solder joints. There are some threads on here that cover the repairs.

If the sensor was damaged or missing, I think the display would show some sort of error messages instead of going blank.
