over head console

well i just spent four hours of my life that i will never get back!!! i have a 98 sport. this truck didn't come with a over head console in it from factory. so i got one, with a bracket, and a wire harness. pulled everything apart to put this thing in. when i was reconnecting the extremely hard to get at plug by the a pillar, i had noticed that not all the pins from the dash harness where there. nice. has anyone else ever put one of these in there truck, that didn't have it from factory. i figured it was a plug and play. especially since it has the temp sensor in front of the truck. as well i didn't have factory cruise in it, and it was all plug and play!!!!

I don't think it has ever been plug and play for anyone here that has added one. I've put two in. In one there was nothing there. In the other the temp sensor was there. I couldn't figure out where the wiring for the temp sensor went to so I clip the wires to it and spliced in my own wiring. I've just wired them from scratch on both of them.

I added one to my explorer. I just had the plug on the console, not the other half. All I had to work with was that. I just saw black wires. After doing plenty of testing, I wired it all up and it works great. Good luck! I love mine!
