Just a few questions... i had my tranny rebuilt 2 years ago.. i recently moved and had lost all my paper work on my explorer.. I have a 91 explorer xlt 4x4. My overdrive has just gone out on me and i have no idea why? my truck runs good in drive but my overdrive just stays in 4th gear. i have had my electrical ran through and tested also i have droped my tranny pan and took a look inside to see if everything was good... and it was... i was woundering what would be the best way to go about this? my mechanic took a look at it and he said he found nothing wrong.. I was woundering if i should just get a new tranny put in or if there is something i have overlooked that would fix this problem... please email me at systemlocked66@yahoo.com

Welcome to this forum! It could have a bad solenoid, TPS, VSS, misadjusted band, dried out servo piston or a problem with the internal wiring harness. The PCM applies a ground signal based on its sensor inputs.
