Overdrive or No overdrive? That is the question..

Dude you wouldn't believe how many times your comment went through my head going home yesterday.

When I got home I would turn off and on the ignition until I was sure the check gauge light was not the same as a check engine.

I'm wondering if the guy removed the light so I wouldn't see it?

Not sure I understand.... but you are saying that your check engine light DOES NOT light during start procedures???? Usually a good sign that some one has done a "few things" that they shouldn't.... :-(

and yep the check gauge is NOT the same as check engine.

Part is $78 at Ford. $30 for filter and new gasket kit. And then 8 or so qrts of ATF. I may just attempt it my self. I've called a couple of places and if they are gonna charge more than $150 I'll just do it and chalk it up as a slow learn.
