I think it is about 1-inch anyway you can never be sure with the Transmission dipsticks.

Roughly how much do I need to take out to get it down to the right level?. As I don’t want to be Pumping out and refilling all day to get the right hot temp fluid level, Just a ballpark figure will do if possible.

Thanks.

Take the Fluid out Line off the Transmission cooler and tick the engine over and let it pump out, I would guess it would only need a 30 second’s or so to get enough out, I am just looking for a ruff figure on how much to take out I.E ½ or 1 Quart maybe Yes/No.

It is about 1-inch over filled when HOT.

A simple hand pump down the dipstick tube can also suck out enough fluid.

How much fluid is 1 inch? Who knows? Depends on exactly how big your pan is, really.

These trucks pump out about 1 quart every 7 seconds at the transmission cooler fittings. Get an old milk jug, and run the line into it, start the truck, let it run for 7 secs and then you'll have your quart. Then re-test the level...

Thanks guys, I sorted it out and for future reference on the 5R55E transmission 1-inch over the Max level is= to around 250ml or ¼ of a quart or however you measure it over there.

usually an inch is about a pint of fluid..... which is 2x your figure of 1/4 of a quart... 1/4 of a quart is 8 oz......
