I just bought a 2001 Explorer Limited and the overhead console that displays outside temperature and has a digital compass reading is completely dead. The two lamp buttons turn on the lamps, and the moonroof buttons work, etc, but the entire overhead display is dead, and won't turn on.
I'm not sure if this is common, if there is an easy fix, or if the entire unit is prone to just failing completely. I'f there is easy fixes to look for I'll try and fix it but if I have to buy an entire unit then I'll just pass on it, as it's not that important of a feature. I just want to get the explorer back to 100 percent.
