Oxygen Sensors OEM vs Aftermarket

The title of this thread may be misleading...to the best of my knowledge, an OEM sensor is made by Bosch, and chances are, if you buy an "aftermarket" O2 sensor for an Explorer, it too will be made by Bosch. I don't know if any other company even makes O2's for an Explorer.

If you go to a Ford dealer and buy an O2, it will, in all my experience, be a Bosch O2.

If anyone knows any different, feel free to post here, because I'm always ready to learn something new.

You may also have seen OEM style and Universal Style available for the explorer from Autozone.. they are both Bosch, but the OEM style had the correct connector.. the Universal required you to cut wires..

I have since found out that yes, Bosch makes both the OEM and aftermarket O2 sensor for the Explorer. I got dinked with the price and with the whole situation with the garage I went to, lesson learned and life goes on.

I am just happy the upper and lower intake manifold gasket/seal replacement went as easily as it did. I am quite happy with the results so far.
