I have a 92 Ford Explorer, I was wondering how many O2 sensors there are and where they are located. I recently had a bad Fuel Pressure Regulator, got it replaced but the Ex still runs a little shakey sometimes at idle. Could the gas getting into the system have messed them up? My mechanic says they may need to be replaced but i'm not sure. Hope you guys can help.. thanks.

My '92 has one O2 sensor. It's in the Y-pipe just upstream of the cat(s).

You should have 1 O2 sensor on your truck. Your mech is right, the bad FPR could have damaged the O2 sensor due to excessively rich exhaust.

Hmm, ok then it looks like I will replace the O2 sensor. One more thing, when you replace the O2 sensor how long does it take see results, will I have to drive it for a while before I see if it made a difference???

You oughta see a difference right away by the "feel" of the engine's response.

Don't forget reset your computer by disconnecting the battery so your computer can relearn your driving.
