Well guys, new here, and I have been searching the forums for awhile. I picked up a 2010 XLT Explorer 2wd for $900. Previous owner thought the vehicle needed a transmission. It had the torque converter whine to it.
I replaced the torque converter with a new one from Ford and everything has been fine. The only issue I'm having is the dreaded P0741 code, however, my O/D light is NOT flashing. The vehicle will go into overdrive no problem. I can actually hit the O/D button while doing 70mph and the vehicle will still drop out of overdrive, and go back in when I hit the button again.
The question I have, am I looking at replacing the solenoid pack? Maybe something more? I replaced the filter and flushed the fluid when I replaced the TC.
It has the 5r55s and is 2wd. 9L2P code on the side of the case. Any info is appreciated.
