PA Exploder BUILD Thread

Hello everyone, I'm gonna try to create a build thread for my 1997 Explorer 4.0 4x4. It has blown tranny and 252,000 miles on the engine. I dont have any pics of my explorer yet because its still at my dads shop. I just picked up a wrecked 98 explorer 4.0 4x4 for $350. I plan on taking the trans and engine, seats, and cd player out of the parts truck.

and mods planned after the swap, or are you just tryin to get the 97 up and runnin.

Yeah, I want to do some basic stuff, like clear our the marker lights, fog the tail lights, wheels and tires. Possibly lower it? Maybe a new paint job. All depends on the funds.

Engine swap?

Alright so I'm not exactly sure if i want to tackle the task of swapping the engines. The current engine has 252,000 with a blown trans, so i have to take the trans out regardless. The parts truck has 169,000 with a good trans. The only problem is that i dont know how the other engine runs. The previous owner said it ran fine before the accident but not sure if i should take his word or not. What do you guys think i should do? Keep the current engine, or put in the other engine. ????

Ohh, and i forgot to add this but im only 15 so Ill be needing my fathers help for most of it.
