just was wondering if anyone had pacesetters catback system. was thinking of buying it for my 1991 explorer 4.0, but dont want my explorer to sound like junk with it either? any one have one? and does it sound ok? my explorer exhaust just rotted off and i noticed the pacesetter catback is very well priced.

Pacesetter is junk. I put cat backs on every day and pace setter seems to be of the cheepest quality. Just spend the money and get a good one.

I agree. Pacesetter = crap.

You might want to read this first before spending any money.

pacesetter is good, for about 500 miles, then its finish starts deteriorating......

no bueno!

you guys may want to look at this one tho. i always thought pacesetter was junk too till i saw this new kit available foe the explorer. its called tfx kat backs i think, there new all stainless unlike there usual junk piping with real flanges not clamps and dual 3" tips. it honestly doesnt look to bad kinda sharp. i just dont know the quality of there new muffler tho that come in those kits. you can view it at pacesetters page its like at the bottom on left they are called tfx kat backs spelled with a k like that. maybe its not bad? just didnt know if anyone samoled one yet?

From their specs, their system may even be more restrictive than the stock system. I'm not holding my breath for any newfound quality or anything.

yea you may be right it is only 2 1/4" with 2 1/2" tips. it is mendrel bent but, prolly not as great as the photo may make it look. dont htink its worth the risk to try it out then possibly be unsatisfied.
