Well suffice it to say I have had paint issues on my Explorer since Day 1. A chip on the passanger door, paint eaten away on the same side (right) quarter panel.
Luckly the dealership fixed all theses. Well now i have the pain chipping on the hood and what not, dealership thinking it is caused by rocks and what not so they wont pay for it. What is the easiest way to fix these and make them look nice? I.E even and glossy like the rest of the paint. Right now they are white.
I also have this strange ding that is going out from the quarter panel on the left side. I was hit on that side 3 weeks after I bought the damn thing (yes ****ty luck) and they fixed it and I am not sure if this was caused by poor quality repair (dealership) or something else. The dealership thinks something from the inside hit it, which would make sense if the wheel area wasnt fully covered by plastic. Long story short is the dealership trying to get out of paying and if so what is the easier and inexpensive route of fixing this. Sadly everyone can see it and points fun and it is getting annoying.

well for the chips the quick easy is touch up. Looks acceptabel at best.
Repainting the hood will yield the best results, but obviously will cost the most.
Explorer hoods have just the right curve that seems to attract tons of road chips.

I hate, hate, hate, hate bug deflectors. But I have one. :(
They serve a purpose and they work well.

As far as the outward ding ( outtie ) it most liklely may be a result of the repair.
Outties dont happen too normaly.
Depending on how sharp and how deep it is a paintless dent repair guy might be able to work it out for you.

Thanks for the speedy reply. All I really care is that the paint chips at least match the color. Doesnt have to be perfect. I will probably do this as weekend project sometime when it doesnt decide to rain... Yeah when I took it in, the guy was like well this is weird, he tried to blame me for it, and i was like umm no. I will have to argue with them some more. Especially since he never called me back. Thanks for advice.

any independant body shop can mix you up some touch up paint for not a lot of dough.
