I just bought my explorer and the previous owner had taken it down the highway alot so it has a few paint chips and small scratches on the hood what is the best way to fix these

Is that similar to another brand called Color Match? It comes with a crayon, and a cream in a squeeze bottle. The crayon is first used to go into deep scratches, then the cream is applied with a chamois rag.

No. Color match, from what I recall, is a Turtle Wax product. While it does have a crayon and wax, the Turtle Wax product is not a permanent solution. This, on the other hand, is because you essentially repaint the chip and level it with the surface of your existing paint.
