Hey all, anyone got a pic of any of the 17" Aluminum wheels painted? Especially Black? Just got the idea to paint my bumpers black, so if I got some nightshade for my tails with some black rims I think it would look pretty sick, especially with the 265/70R17s I got on. But I dont want to do it and have it look terrible, you know?

If anyone wanted to PS that, that would also be sweet.

Probably also going to remove the step bar.

not8taxi, that thing is CLASSSSSSY, I should have gotten the cobra wheels last week.
Animex, call around locally, you should be able to find a shop within an hour that will powdercoat for about 60-70 a wheel.

What did you end up doing on your wheels?

If they're in good shape (ie no bends, curb rash, etc),

I'll trade you a brand new set of these in 18x8.5

for your OEM wheels.

What kind of paint did you use and did you use primer?

used krylon spray paint, power washed front and back, dried, used scotch brite pad to rough up the surface a bit, cleaned with alcohol to get final debris off, tapped off, sprayed front and back with satin black, then two coats of gloss then some clear coat. all krylon products. took about 6 hours it payed off only about $40 for completely different looking rims :)

I have an 2002 4.6 v8, Then fenders are like that faded gray, there not already glossey like yours was, what could i use to paint the trim, the gray looks horrible? i also painted my rims black, it was a great turnout

i sold the cobra wheels waiting for my adrenalin wheels to get powerdercoated then ill put up those new pics

I'm looking for pics of this as well. I have a silver XLT with the black moldings and bumpers with the 17 inch alloys and I am also thinking of painting them black.
