you dont get what i was sayiing bout the insurance companys..... they will look for anyway not to pay for the claim..... they will automaticly see the altered taillight and say NOPE... becuase thats not DOT approved... Doesnt matter how much light comes through... even if it was brighter they would still prolly say soemthing

PEACE

srry if i sounded like a a-- but jsut watching out for ya

PEACE

I really really like them. I don't know why everyone is giving you such a problem. It looks like a very light coat of paint so that the light will still shine through them. I say go for it.

They look really good. I'd like to do that to mine, but unfortunately in NJ they would not pass inspection.

:thumbdwn:

looks way to similar to the ricey "altezza" style lights. not my style...

that's exactly what i was trying to get away from..lol

thank's for some good word's about it..i think im going to try oval's next time..not sure till i get home an look at them more..im at school now..so i can only look the pic's

I say try flames. There are reflectors in the sides of the tails too so that when your car is parked at night other drivers dont run right into the side of it. I would do flames that dont cover much. Leaving some side reflector showing and most of the rear open. The last thing you want is to be denied insurance coverage because of something like that.

ok dude, i did mine...tinted, and DARK, i mean they are a nice deep deep dark cherry color. i had the hardest time getting my hands on the tint stuff. the guys at phat customz wanted $35 for a little 7 ounce can that was 12 bucks online plus shipping (came to about the same price). i was able to talk tthe guy there into letting me use the last of a can they had used to some guys tails who worked there and he gave me the warning before he handed me the can...about APD getting **** this fall and cracking down on ANY kind of tail light covers/guards/paint/tint. So i took it anyway and chose to take the risk. got pulled over about 2 1/2 weeks ago for speeding (13 over and i didn't even realize it until i passed the guy) he didn't say anything. the only thing he commented on was not being able to see inside the back windows which are basically more mirrored than the mirrors in my bathroom (5% tint on top of the stock privacy - I LOVE IT!) he said nothing about my tails. i also have no front liscense plate and he didn't say anything about that, or my blue turn signals....i'm sure you could get away with it

on the negative side of things, i was comin back from alyeska last weekend when it was a blizzard on the road and visibility was about 200 feet in front of you, and we pulled over at the tesoro (where the the exit is for the alyeska highway from the seward highway) and he said he could barely see my turn signal because it looked like my brake light. i painted the yellow to an exact match of the red on the brake lights...keep in mind this was when you could barely see anyway.....

as for what i think of yours, i like them, i think they look good. my opinion, insurance company would be the only thing i would think about if i kept them like that (obviously i have thought about it, and it hasn't changed my mind...lol)

we should hook up sometime, along with everyone else from ak

yeeeahhhh i need to learn to proofread BEFORE i post...lol

my friend said that he couldn't see my tails, not a cop or anyone, just a friend following me back to anchorage

thank's snowburns..after i get my licn..it would be cool to have a G2G w/everyone from ak

here's another pic to throw in the mix

But you still cant see the side reflectors.

i'll try and get a picture of mine tonight...but since it's so dark out i don't know how it'll turn out.....then everyone will tell me how bad mine are....lol

I like the look !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you go with the ovals you aughta' use a Ford embelm as a template. Not the lettering , just the shape.

i happen to have a broke ford emblem(the lettering's broke) i could use..hmmmm

try the ovals, that would look pretty sweet. honestly for safety it may be better to make it wrap around to the side.....buuuut for looks, you probably don't want to do that, lol, i wouldn't....

when do you get your liscense?

year 1/2..lol im 14 now but in may i turn 15..then insurance..ect..lol

yeh but you gotta be 16 to drive without a parent and all...

i know..that's what im sayin..im 14 1/2 now and in may of this year i will turn 15..then a year an im 16..so at the end of 10 grade i will be able to drive alone

i think you are askin to get pulled over
