Beautiful! And the paint took care of the fuzzy finish in the 2 upper cavities. Well done! Hard to find a radio without a touch screen, so I'm keeping the stock one.
The fuzzy felt stuff
Looks bad in the picture but OK in real life
But yea just lightly dusted it with paint
Then separate the fuzz from clumping A tooth brush right after painting

Sorry for the bad picture but don't look to bad

That looks great, nice work.

Is that 29.8 the low fuel pressure, or high vacuum? LOL, I never would have thought of amperage. I like that display being there, subtle and not blocking anything.

I just stuck it there with Velcro works a treat
That way I can just remove them without damage

Fun fact it takes about 19 amps to run a v6 explorer down the road

Another awesome project.

The rubber OEM coating seems to degrade over time. Did you steel wool it all the way down to the (plastic?) base? How much time did this entire project take? Is the resulting painted surface a great improvement?

Thanks!

Yes I sanded It It took lots of 00 and 0000 steel wool
While standing with the steel wool I used Sandpaper And isopropyl rubbing alcohol to prep the surface 400 grit Wet then 600 grit wet
The radio basil is a different type of plastic than the council cup holder part It will melt with Harshah chemicals and alcohol such as acetone
Did this took 3-5 hours lots of time to do properly.
By sanding it and prepping it this way it was already prepared for the adhesive promoter
The promoter has a very specific Time frame to use it small coat 5 minutes than a normal coat 15 minutes apply apply paint
I painted 2 coats of paint 15 minutes apart that I sand With 400 grit Wet 600 grit Wet Then paint then sand then paint then sand this flattens the surface makes the paint look professional
The adhesive her motor takes 24 hours to cure The paint takes 24 hours to here I found 2 days was better it looks great
Is this better than rustoleum spray paint absolutely it is

The bumpers and trim outside of the truck where were cleaned with acetone no sanding just adhesive permotor And paint

The paint on the center console and the bumpers is holding up really well I haven't had any problems
Still looks great
