just scuff them up really good then get well i used 8 cans of krylon fusion spray paint i think it was. rim clear coat and thats it. not too hard i just got a few huge black garbage bag and layed it over my wheel and tire then took a razor blade and cut a circle a little smaller then the outside of the rim then take a metal putty knife and push it in between the tire and wheel

oh yeah this was in the winter so they dont really show the shine because of the salt but it gives you the idea

thanks that looks good i think iam goin to take my wheels off the truck todo it tho so i can get the front and back of them

yeah take them off the truck but unless you plan on removing the tire from the wheel then you will need to cover up the tire

how long has it been since you did this? Have you had them scratch up and show any chrome or any thing?

they have need on my truck for about 10 months if not longer and they survived running over a honda. the paint can scratch off but with 6 coats and 2 coats of clear they are pretty solid

have you had any scratch yet? My X is Black and im thinking about completely blacking it out but dont really have the money for new rims is why I ask. But at the same time later on down the road I dont want to have crappy scrathed up rims lol.

they do scratch but you really need to beat them to scratch them. mine havnt scratched yet even when the honda hit it

macknos you think if I did just one coat without roughing them up i'd be able to get the paint off .. Reason I'm asking is I'm not sure how good my mounty would look with black rims so I wanna be able to go back chrome if I don't like the black
