painting the trim to match

hey guys, i'm thinking of painting all exterior trim to match the paint(white) , i'm worry about chipping, 'cuz its all plastic,any sugestions?,.. if i have a body shope do the work ,how much i should expect to pay?

Yeah, you would really have to scuff it up to prevent chipping....you could take it off if you don't like it....

can you elaborate? I'm about to paint my trim panels black to match my exterior paint. Do I just sand it down, prime it, use mineral spirits on it, and paint?
 






From what I've read if they paint the plastic pieces the add something to the paint to make it give. I think it's so if the plastic flexes the paint doesn't crack.
But it should also resist chipping.
