i'm on line right now yb and need the help man this is my mail truck

when i use 20 volt setting and touch the probes to the neg cable and neg terminal i get 12. something

so i tried that method on my newer 2004 and it was the same way

i currently have no fuses in my fuse box under the dash i tried pulling all the fuses one at a time and it always read 12 something i guess i'm setting something up wrong

ok i just set the meter to 20 volts i used a battry back to cheat the kam or what ever it is memory when i pull out the 60 amp maxi for igniton the numbers change with the fuse in its 11.74 when i pull it otu it drops to 10.98 i think but im still not sure if i'm doing it right all the fuses in under dash or on my floor board

it could be that there is a direct drain. try to disconnect he alternator at the relay and see if anything happens?

this is a new altnator i just picked up

should i just unplug the alernatore all together

Wait are u on the Volts or Amps function??? most VOMs have a seperate hole / port labeled 10 A. put ur red wire there. then take one lead ( any) and attatch one to the battery post, and the other to cable. THEN start plucking fuses. DONT FORGET TO LET UR VOM CHILL FOR A BIT OR U WILL BURN THE CIRCUIT...

and wait untill all the fuses are gone to unplug the alternator

i been using volts but not on the 10 amp scale when i unplugged the
alt it dropped by.02 switching to 10 amp right now

ok so do i use ten amp hole with 20 volt setting

ok time to start putting some fuses back in it only reads .01
with that new setting it must be the fuses under dash because all the big ones under hood r still plugged in

i'm now using the 20m setting in the a- scale on the meter with the 10 amp hole that says only 10 sec max

no when u plug into the 10 A port there should also be a 10A on the dial.

ok all the fuses or back in execpt 2 rear wiper since its broke off and the hego heather as this would light up my trouble light

now with the 10 a scale with thte probes in the 10 a slots i get .16 then it goes rigth .01

ok now when i pull the ignition fuse it goes to .00 instead of point .01

with this fuse out the number stay .00 it never moves or lights up with any numbers

so now i can replace my ignition switch since it kinda haas play in it anyway i think

or is .01 not enough to pull the battery over night

maybe a new btry and new ignition

ok so i'm double checking when i opend the door it jumps to 2. 89 or something from the dome light close the door .00 put the igniton fuse back in and bam when i hook up it read .60 then then settles to .01 and stays there

oh yeah could it be a ignition relay
