Can someone please tell me where to find the parking brake sensor on my 1995 explorer? The stupid light on the dash goes no/off during acceleration and braking. I searched the forum and found that it could either be the sensor or the computer is sensing a pressure difference between the front and rear brakes. The breaks squeek 90% of the time. I got all new brakes 1 yr ago. at Les Schwab. Be Nice.......

The parking brake switch is located on the parking brake pedal assy. Look for a one wire switch above the parking brake pedal.

But according to your complaint I'd guess that you have low brake fluid or a problem with your brake system not the parking brake switch.

The parking brake warning indicator switch for Ranger and Explorer vehicles is located on the parking brake pedal assembly under the dash.

check the brake fluid level first.......the light also comes on if you have problems witht eh ABS or low brake fluid

What they said. Sounds like low brake fluid. Check that out first.

Yeah my Parking brake light came on and the fluid was low.. Turned out to be a blown rear brake cylinder. Piece of cake to fix. No more brake light except when E brake is on.
