As the title says, pass. side door will not unlock unless I pull the interior handle. When I press the unlock button from any position, driver, passanger or remote it just moves to the unlocked position and back to locked.

Any ideas?

im new to this site, joined last night! love it already. ive got a 97 explorer e.b. had it painted what i call a white chocolate including the bumpers. removed the roof rack. billet upper and lower grille. clear corners and headlights. had chrome tails but had them blackened then cleared. safari bar in front but no lights on it cause i think that looks a little country. sits on 22 inch chrome rims. i have those chrome plated vents on the side and red turn signal arrows on side mirrors. it now has 185,000 miles so i had timing chain replaced with the double roller type, starter and alt rebuilt radiator replaced. i always use the double plat plugs and get my oil an filter changed every 3,000 miles with castrol 20-50 and yes i use the puralator filter. i love my truck as we all do!!! now i wanna redo the front seats and carpet and sunroof liner anybody out there with any ideas????

wtf?

Edit:Nevermind

check the wiring in the rubber boot between the door and pillar for a short or cut or frayed wire. (Driver and Passenger doors) Its a common issue but usually windows don't work type of stuff. But in this case the lock wire (when you press lock it should short to ground) and the unlock wire being frayed it might be shorting to ground unintentionally. sorry for the poor explanation.

Other than that WD40 out of the lock and see if it frees something up or Remove and Replace the lock . . .

thanks i'll try it cause its really getting on my nerves standing in the rain trying to unlock my doors
