The passenger side wheel on my 96 2wd sticks out past the fenderwell further than all of the others, which I think has something to do with making it pull to the right(I have seen other explorers with the same problem and others that don't). I took it to Ford several times and they have just dismissed it, telling me it was my imagination. Furthermore, it seems as though the passenger tire toes out much further than the drivers side. Therefore, I have had several front end alignments and everyone keeps telling me that it is within specs (the same on both sides according to the printouts). I set the toe on the passenger side to "look" the same as the drivers side and it now drives straight, but I am worried that the tire will wear excessively. What should I do next? The factory warranty as well as the extended warranty is gone.

My '95 Explorer had the same problem. I had an alignment done and it semi-fixed it. A lot of people have the same problem.

as long as you had taken the truck in for warranty work (if the oddity of the tire was covered under the warranty), and the problem was not fixed, they are still liable to work on the problem, under the warranty, even though the warranty has expired (unless, of course, it's a 3rd party warranty, and not a FoMoCo warranty, it may be different)

its a vehicle quirk... look at almost all trucks... they are almost all like that..... different manufacturing tolerances allowed that... it isnt something to worry about...... having a vehicle that pulls to one direction will have nothing to do with the tire wear if the camber and toes are set in spec.... its a caster problem... the right side caster should be about .5 degree higher than the left.... however, most vehicles if the caster spec is changed, it will also cuase the camber to change as well........

Yep. This is one of those accept it, that's how it is type a deal. I am lucky enough not to have that problem.
