My 94 passenger window was shattered during a recent break-in (*******s took my beloved stereo), and I'd like to replace the window myself. Is this easy? I've done it several times on past cars, but not the Ranger. Is it bolted on, or riveted? Any info is appreciated. Thanks.

on my explorer it was riveted, but i dont know about on my ranger. it was still real easy to replace, just drill the rivets out (which was way easier than it sounds, and it still sounds pretty easy) and slide in the new window. the hardest part was trying to get all of the broken glass out of the doorskin. just go to a junkyard and completely destroy the door of a ranger similar to yours to see how it all works, then take the window and put it in your truck the right way. 1993-1997 rangers should all be the same, both reg and extended cab. later rangers may be the same too, i dont know.

EDIT: when i replaced my window in my ex, i used bolts instead of rivits when i put it back in. it was a lot easier than screwing with my 45 year old rivet gun, and worked just as well. good luck man!

Thanks for the info

I wish I had pulled the window myself, so I could see how it's in there, but I bought an already pulled & cleaned one for 45 bucks. Also, I was considering bolting it, since I had done that in the past with success. Thanks for the reply!

I replaced a window in my 93. I had to drill out the rivet, and replaced it with a bolt, too. It was pretty straightforward. You should have no problems since you've done it on other cars.
