passive alarm sounding

Hi everyone, I`m new to the site, and am glad I found it. I find it to be very informative. I have a `95 XLT with avery annoying problem. The passive alarm system will go off from time to time for no apparent reason. It always seems to happen at the worst times too, like at night when the neighbors are sleeping. Then it`s amad dash for the keys to shut it off before someone calls the cops. I would really appreciate any input or suggestions anyone may have..

How is your hood sensor working? Does the ligh immediately come on when the hood is opened? The reason I ask is because the factory alarm system is wired into the hood switch and if the switch fails the alarm can sound randomly.
