Passive Anti Theft Device

Hi all,

Is anyone an expert on the workings of the passive anti theft device. I have a 2000 model limited explorer. Its going fine, however the passive anti theft device light flashed for about 2 minutes this morning when I first drove the car. It went out and seems fine.

Is this anything to worry about? what makes it flash like that? Any info on the device would be appreciated.

Welcome to this forum! I guess you don't have to worry yet since it was able to start, and you didn't experience any problems other than the flashing light.

As far as I know, my buddies 99 X, the light is supposed to come on whenever you turn off the ignition and take the keys off. On my 97 X, whenever you lock the doors from the remote or from the inside.
