A co-worker I work with has a 93 mustang 5.0 with a paxton suppercharger with 73,000 miles on it for sale. I would love to have this engine. My ? is are super chagers good or bad for wheeling?

Good or bad is subjective. A supercharger generally is effective in the mid to upper RPM's. Most wheeling is done in the lower RPM's, with the exception of mud-bogging. Most of your driving is on the street, though, so if it's a good deal and you are mechanical, go for it.

would it affect my performance off road any? I plan to have about 10 in. of lift with 35x14.50's will it give it some pretty good get up and go?

does he have any work done to the engine (i.e.: cam, pistons, etc.) and how many pounds of boost is the supercharger?

A supercharger will provide additional torque across most of the power band (if set up correctly). The more torque you have the better. IF you put 35 inch meats under your rig your going to need additional ponies to get things rolling. If the motor is in good shape, go for it. Most Paxton superchargers are good for 100,000 mile before a rebuild is necessary. How many miles are on the SC?

There are about 3,000 miles on the sc. He is practically giving the engine away, and it is in excellent condition so I will probibaly buy it. The car it was in haulled some balls.

I JUST INSTALLED A USED PAXTON ON MY 94 EXPLORER
I WORKED GREAT ,THE UNIT WAS REBUILT ALREADY AND CAME WITH EVERYTHING. INCLUDING A FUEL REGULATOR WHICH I HAVEN'T HOOKED UP YET.
MY EXPLORER HAS A 4 1/2" LIFT WITH 32 IN BFG'S. I TOW A BOAT SO I NEEDED THE EXTRA POWER TO PULL IT. SO FAR THE PAXTON HAS WORKED GREAT AROUND TOWN. SEEMS THE BOOST STARTS AROUND 2200 RPM AND REALLY GETS GOING AFTER 3200 RPM. THE MORE LOAD ON THE ENGINE THE SOONER THE BOOST COMES IN . ON LARGE INCLINE HILLS IS WHEN YOU CAN REALLY FEEL THE DIFFERENCE OTHERWISE DRIVEABILITY IS FINE

supercharger

Paxon superchargers are great i have one on my chevy (i know bad bad :) but horsepoer was increased 40% from 260 hp to 364 it was truely a beuatiful thing :) I didnt have one on my explorer though
