Really nice write up, BTW. I ended up paying for the OEM replacement PCV/hose assy for my 2001 J1 ST which has the same set-up.
Any idea how to get at the other end of the flared hose that holds the PCV valve from below? I want to try and replace the assembly before I resort to your mod.
