Hi All,

I need help removing the PC Valve from a 4.0 SOHC V6 Ford Explorer 2002 Model. The problem is when i tried to tug the tube behind the back of the truck
it is very tight i am afraid if i try to apply brute strength on the thick rubber tube
near the back of the engine i might break something in the upper intake manifold. How do i go about this?

Please help.

It has an electrical connector on it. It screws out counter clockwise. Broke mine hard lesson learned.

Thanks for your reply. Should i remove the tube connecting the pcv valve before attempting this? Should i use pliers or just brute force fingers?

Remove the hose and twist it by hand counter clockwise. I wouldn't use any hand tools.

I did use a pair of pliers to get the damn thing out. It was two seconds.

Thanks so much. I manage to solve the problem.

1. Took off the top hose connected to the intake manifold.
2. Then from there i put the hose down to where i can see the pcv
3. Twisted it off with my thumb. What a pain to get it to twist off!

Thanks so much for all the help. Using pliers might be a great idea for this
beast since it is replaceable anyway. Cheers!
