Stay away from painting below about 55 degrees. When I was VHT tinting my tails, it was about 60 in the evening but dropped to like 30-35 at night. I dont have a garage, so I had mine outside in a "thrown together" small paint booth just to protect them from wind/bugs/dust, etc. I came out the next morning and they had frosted. I wish I could have gotten a picture, but instead of being glossy black, they looked shiny gray.
Same thing when I tried painting, I even had a small hair dryer in the little booth I made, but the cold still overpowered it; paint looked like hell. Not glossy, just dull; and discolored.
