Hey for the last couple of days when ever i start and drive my ex in the morning. it takes forever to shift sometimes, it even stays pegged at 5000 for a few seconds, but when it warms up its fine. Any ideas whats going on?

Start by making sure it's not low on trans fluid.

Governor is hanging up. could be as simple as fluid and filter change/flush or you may have to physically remove and clean the governor assy.

Hey i dont know how true this is but my bro and a bunch of ford, guys told me to be careful when changing my trans fluid. since i havent done it for awhile. one guy told me to empty the trans and clean it out with ethanol? to get the gunk out

Nah, the worry is a trans flush. changing the fluid wont hurt it. I wouldnt touch it with ethanol but I am not a tranny master.

One of my many trannies did this and it was an easy fix. Problem was the Vac line to the vac modulator wasnt connected. on the top centerish (if i recall) of the trans is a kinda brass colored thing. It has a vac line running to it. make sure its there and conected there and to wherever it runs

ok thanks ill check that, anyone have a picture of that?
