Im moving from Lakewood Colorado Back home to North Carolina around the fayetteville area. well my g.f. has a freakin dodge neon that she's driving back and i get to drive the moving truck and trailer my X home. Penske gave me the lowest price in history i think but their car trailer cant hold an explorer. its only good up to 4,055lbs. i love my X toooo much to sell it so what can i do? but keep in mind it has 211,000 miles

Rent the trailer from U-haul or some place that rents bigger trailers

Curb weight that Edmund's lists on that is 4012 lbs. I say tow it!

but the sticker on my door says 5,150lbs

Weigh the Ex at a truck scale if your unsure,Around here it's free and they are the guys who would give you the ticket if it was over and on the Penske trailer.Keep in mind that a full fuel tank is about 150 lbs as well as anything else inside. It all adds up in a hurry if your close to the max.

well i just called uhaul and their old car trailers can hold 5,250lbs the new ones can hold somewhere around 7000 i think.

That is Gross Vehicle Weight not the actual weight of vehicle or the curbside weight. First and second gen. explorers weigh in the neighborhood of 4000-4500lbs. Usually closer to 4000lbs. GVW is the highest rated load that a vehicle can carry including the vehicles own weight.

My 2nd gen comes in around 4600lbs, the sports are under 4000 though.

my x is a manual trans. and she cant drive it or the uhaul. im getting a trailer from uhaul that can handle the job!
