Im very new to the electronical/computer part of a vehicle, and frankly it scares the hell out of me.

I want some sort of chip/program thats easy to install/use and can do most or all of the following

-Achieve Better Gas Miliage
-Disable Speed and Rev Limiters
-Smoother Shifting
-More Power
-Something that doesn't break the bank

2000 ford explorer xlt SOHC

I don't mean to hijack this thread but its the same topic so it doesn't seem like i should clutter the board up with a very similar question lol. I just got a jet chip for my 96 with the 4.0 OHV in a lot of other explorer stuff and I was wondering If I decide to put it on can I still use regular gas? 87 octane. If I have to use premium im probably just going to put it on ebay or something. Also if I do use it, it won't hurt my car in any way will it? Im just a little worried because my engine has 150,000 miles on it. I saw some info on these chips but there are lots of mixed oppinions. I'm not worried about getting that much power out of it, I just want to make sure it is safe. Thanks!

bump, anyone?

What was the chip programmed for ( octane level )?

the site is a little vague in saying, but I think it is pointing towards 89 octane. I know it is definately not super, that is the "stage 2" chip. Thanks.

I got it off ebay with a K&N kit and some speaker kick panels, but its actually from a member on this site lol.

Why not get the chip info from that person?

Is it programmed for you ECM box code?
