hi there,

i have a 98 Xplorer (4.0 sohc) and would love to get a US performance exhaust for it but having real problems finding one here or someone willing to ship from the US.

surely someone must have bought one over here?? or is custom the only way to go. I don't like the idea of custom exhausts as they can be very hit and miss performance wise, i'd prefer an exhaust that a company has specifically designed for my vehicle rather than some back box just welded to fit!!!

any help appreciated,

cheers,
Greg

Me too!

I agree. Been looking at the US selection and it is very extensive but forget it with shipping and and the awful charge (robbery) of UK customs. Surely there is a UK option?:(

I got mine from Dead Link Removed which proved quite cost effective.

hi Bruce,

looks a good site and foreigner friendly!!!!

what sort of postage and custom duty did you have to pay?? the prices look very good besides these.

cheers,
Greg

The shipping looks to be your issue. If you can get a decent rate, there are kits for you. If not, select a good muffler, choose for sound, and have it done at a muffler shop. Good luck,

I bought my lift kit, wheels, and basically everything that is on my car at the same time - so cant really tell you what the exhaust would cost. Contact them via their website. They were very good at answering my questions.

cheers bruce,

customs must have thought it was christmas with that lot!!!! i do not have an issue with postage as i buy a lot of sports gear from the USA but i know from experience that import tax is very variable, i have had 200 dollar shirts cost me £10 and 50 dollar tops cost me £50 in tax!!!

if i am looking at another £50 on top then i would pay it, but if its gonna double the price it makes it harder to justify.

greg

thanks for all replies so far, has got me a lot further than i was before!!
