For the past several months and I don't know why, I've continuously had this code. Nothing has helped, resetting the battery, replacing , properly setting the Camshaft Synchronizer. My alternator tests good. Seems like nothing I've tried has worked and I can't afford to drop tons of money diagnosing at the moment since I lost my job. Anyone dealt with this issue before? It happened not too long after my lost tuning sessions as well. On a modified 5.0 Explorer.

--Bump--. Anyone got any ideas? Would a normal misfire issue with ignition wire, coil, plugs cause this as well? Like I said, the truck runs fine but I do every once and a while notice slight hiccup hesitation in O/D or the hwy that a passenger riding wouldn't notice. So there may be something up other than that she runs great.

Have you tried removing only the positive cable on battery nod touching it to the ground while ground is still hooked to batt that drains all power from system
Just an old trick my pops taught me years ago
Can't hurt right

Hi Tekman,

Did you ever figure this out, I worked on this a good bit of the day yesterday and still get the code. Alternator 14.2 volts, reinstalled synchronizer at TDC with alignment tool, replaced sensor. What voltage are you getting going to the sensor with the key on? I was only getting 0.06 volts to the + terminal on the sensor and I do not think it is correct. I think the 99-01 5.0 synchronizer and sensor are different than the earlier models, they are two wires similar to the 4.0 OHC wiring for the cmp.

Yes, it was an issue in my tuning. I had James Hensen re-send the same tune and downloaded and it never came back since.
