should i be concerned. had 40 miles on it, no big deal. but the average mpg was only 8.5 which means someone really drove it hard. i'm thinking to have them pull the diagonostics so i can see how hard. what do you think.

Your vehicle should have had a small sticker on the window stating the vehicle was pulled for a random QC Audit. Mine had same issue, so did others on this site. If it wasn't selected for an audit from the factory then somebody at the dealership was testing out your new wheels.

Mine said the exact same thing(8.5mpg). The vehicles probably idle quite a bit between the plant and dealer, not transit time, but idling at the plant and idleing at the dealer. I wasnt too concerned and just reset it when i left.
