Heh my 91 is an official Search and rescue vehicle. I will post pics once the paint is on it. HOPEFULLY it will look real good. BTW national search and rescue emergency lights are GEEN. Amber is for road crews and such. In PA you can have blue if you are a emergency service volunteer or red if a chief or proffesional. Around here red gets you way more respect. everyone ignores amber. Green is Rare. I get to run RED so I am lucky.

our fire department out here has all sorts of new toys.... dodge ram pickups, burbans, tahoes, blazers, toyota pickups...all newer trucks..... they rock!

I have a pic of a new Heep Cherokee RCMP unit, but I will only post it here if you want to see it Jim:)

nah... just want to see the first gen Xs.... my truck when i fix it will kinda be doing a paramilitry/civil service extreme SAR type rig... getting no windows on it with steel plates instead and a huge toolbox bolted to the floor housing all sorts of emergency equipment....

Hey Spas any interesting story behind you not being able to outrun that police explorer? Do you have any idea what they have in em to make em run so fast? any kind of police horsepower package? i just want to see what i am up against.....nah i would nevvvvvver run from the cops!! lol. again. lol. hey i will post some pictures of the military base security vehicles here they are explorers and look pretty cool.

Hey crankcase, you ever get in trouble for snapping shots of all the police X's? :D I know I would, lol

Rocket, try passing a weigh station when your work rig is fully loaded....took the officer exactly 15 seconds to get in his explorer and catch up to me almost half a mile away-how do I know? I timed him while I was looking for a spot to turn around and go back to this tiny little station that I didn't see. I actually got distracted by all the polcie explorers sitting out front and completely ignored the sign! :D

If I make it into the local Sheriff's Office, I hope to be able to convince them to purchase a few X's for the force ;) Mustangs would be great too..Baltimore county has a couple of beautiful GT's.

The Atlanta FD got some Excursions, and my friend and I were drooling over one we found parked somewhere. We were standing there peeking in the windows and stuff when the two firefighters walked up and got in to drive away. Oh my god, that thing sounded incredible  It was great :D

OH MY GOD PEOPLE WE HAVE A NEW WORLD RECORD!!!! 15 second hald mile run. hmmm let me see here ummm carry the 5 drop the 1........hmm by my calculations that is like a 10 second explorer!!!! woooooow. lol. troll has some competition. lol. j/k. but i wish the police had 10 second X's because they need to get rid of em some day. though they most likely would be beat to crap. i know i would if i was a cop in one.

Yeah, it does sound like a load until you factor in all the additional bits...like he was already halfway in his X when I passed and I was only doing about 40 mph :D C'mon, I wouldn't lie about that. He had a 97 V8 XLT with pipes and Lord only knows what under that hood..I would've asked more, but I was trying to finagle my way out of a ticket. Good thing they don't give them out for absent-mindedness

If I'm ever down that way again I'll be sure to stop and take a pic of the X ;)

I hope that police department that is replaced the X's with Tahoes will have fun fixing those piles of junk all the time :D

the cops down in Austin, TX drive grand marquis, comaros, tahoes, and a few GTs runnin around.

The only Exs i have seen that are not civilian are Mall Security, or as i call them, the 4.0, cuz they are not quite the 5-0...hahha

I've never thought of mall security being non-civilian :D

some mall security is actually a division of the local police departments......

but most security is basically a joke.. just an excuse for some hard@$$ 20 year old kid to drive around a truck with lights on it..... (trust me, i used to work security;))

No, but I was pulled over in a parking lot late at night once by a cop who was looking to buy one for himself, and he started asking me questions about it:D
