So im looking at the pioneer avh-6800 model to put in my 03 explorer. I was wondering if anyone has any thoughts on this model if its worth getting or not. Also i have been looking at the Alpine IVA-W200. I like the fact that the pioneer has the 6 disc changer in it too. I had the pioneer avh-5700 model in my 98 explorer and really liked it. Any thoughts or opinions would help. Thanks

I'm eyeing that same Alpine for my Excursion... I'm also a Pioneer fan, but do like alpines better... I am running Alpine decks in my other two vehicles and have been very happy with their performance...

I can't really speak on the Pioneer, thought the few that I had in the past were good decks...

Yeah i agree too. Ive only had Pioneer and have really been satisfied, but ive heard many good things about the Alpine.

I had the 6 CD changer in my car originally but the W200 has an MP3 player and iPod adapter, I don't miss the CD changer one bit. I can still add one but its not worth the space it would take up, I wouldn't install it if it were free.

Yeah i know, but im talking about the pioneer model that has the 6 disc cd changer. Not the factory one that you are talking about

Yes, but what I am saying is that the iPod adapter and MP3 player in the Alpine IVA-W200 leave me with no need for a 6 disk player. I don't miss it at all. If you have an ipod or know how to make MP3 CD's you won't either.

I was thinkin more for dvds, but yeah im sure i would use my ipod or mp3s
