I incurred damage to the bottom of the passenger side front door. The damage appears to be just the wide black plastic panel with the chrome strip at the top. Can anyone tell me how this is held in place and any idea how much that panel costs?

No idea when or how it happened. It is so low I can't see that someone could have hit it. About two weeks ago I had the tires rotated at a Ford dealer, wondering if they did it on the lift. Problem is I never saw the damage until this pastFriday.

I believe this is what you need:

Door Moulding

My local dealer charges around $198.

It should pop off the door panel (with some force) but don't quote me on that. I'm hoping someone else will chime in that has had to remove these mouldings before.

The molding is separate on each door, one on the front and one on the back. The molding shown looks to be across the entire length of the doors.

That would be be tough to open the doors if it was one piece down the length of side.

Grab the panel from the bottom, lift up starting at one end and they will pop off working your way to the opposite end.

If you go to Fordparts.com you will see that there are 3 mouldings. Two are for the lower door (front & rear) and one long rocker panel moulding.
