plastic primer help

should i use plastic primer before i paint and clear coat some of my interior pieces?i saw some at home depo it is rustoleum plastic primer and it was like 4$ a can is this ideal for my project any help would be great

automotive plastics such as TPO and PP do not need to be primed but you should use a plastic adhesion promoter such as SEM 39863, available at an automotive paint store
