We have a 03 sport trac xlt needing ball joints replaced. Well the outer bearing pretty much blew out and is now stuck to the spindle as u can see from the pics. I'm trying to remove the whole spindle to take it to have the bearing cut off if possible. But for some reason we cannot get the ball joint to separate from the spindle. Pickle fork and just hammering it to death and its not budging at all. Anything else to try?

Tapered seats can be very tough. Jack under the loose castle nut applying upwards pressure to the LCA.
Get a BFH and hit the spindle hard close to the taper. Worked for me where a pickle fork and heat didn't. GL

I use a 2 legged 6 inch gear puller.

Also used the gear puller after all other ideas failed

Thanks for the tip but I hammered the hell out of it and still nothing.
Ended up picking up the same exact gear puller scdix50 recommended and gonna give that a go tomorrow. Keep everyone posted!

As mentioned above the common approach is to hammer the hell out of the side of the aluminum around the ball joint while applying pressure to it with a puller etc.
As for the bearing race been stuck on the spindle I usually cut them off by slotting them with a small cut off wheel until almost at the shaft itself and then finishing the job by cracking it with a chisel. I have had situations where they were so seized on that I have had to cut opposite sides. Smaller bearings I have had to use a dremel tool with a tiny cut off wheel.
