Hi everybody, i am new to this forum, still have read everything i could find to solve my problem, and cant find a cure. The problem is that my truck wont shift to overdrive, works fine 1-2-3 and rear. First problem was that when reversing it was like having the brakes on. Found out the planet gears for low range were worn out. I dont really need low range and as you really cant find a 13-54 tranny in finland the gears were removed and the problem was solved, no problem reversing. Only thing, the o/d disappeared. Oops! The only trouble code is 32 for EGR valve but as the 4.0 is a fed model there is no EGR on it. I've checked out everything i could think of following this forum, still no clue. Any ideas?

Assuming the European Explorers are the same as the US, the 3-4 shift is electronically controlled. I would start by checking that circuit to make sure everything is plugged in (maybe forgot to plug in after transfer case work) and that the shift solenoid circuit is intact.

Hello mr Shorty. The transmission was never out but the tranny is plugged in again and i cant find any obvious lacks in the circuits. Which
, of course doesnt mean there arent any :/ . As far as i know, they are the same except for the speedometers

And, to make it easier, i dont know where exactly the 3-4 shift solenoid is located. I just tried to inspect everything using the old hands-eyes-curses-method

The shift solenoid itself is in the valve body of the transmission. There should be a connector with three wires on the driver's side of the transmission that feeds the two transmission solenoids.

Thank you mr Shorty! I'll crawl under and start following the wires. Lets see....
