1994 eddie bauer
our 1994 ford explorer eddie bauer edition has the antitheft security system. all of a sudden the remote button won't work we put a new battery in the remote, but it didn't help. the lock button works, but not the unlock. for some reason the key has never worked to open the doors so right now it's stuck at the corner store we can't get in and even if we could the explorer wont start without unlocking with the remote any ideas we're desperate

push harder on the button, maybe it's not making a good enough contact, just don't break it, it sounds like you need a new remote

any idea where we can get a new remote??

Could you go in though the tailgate and is there a valet switch of some sorts to disable the alarm, I not familiar with the factory alarm but just an idea.

dealer has new remote if it's a stock alarm. if not you'll have to get one through the manufacturer of the alarm

Ebay has the cheapest remotes. If the locks are frozen up spray a little WD-40 in them. If you work the key back and forth they should break free.

THANK EVERYBODY!! we finally broke into the explorer, the remote button works enough to start the truck, just won't unlock the doors anymore. I talked to a guy at ford today and he had the same thing happen to him and bought a new remote at auto zone, but I'm going to check ebay first. you guys are great!!
