I recieved rear shocks which was suppose to fit in the rear of my 97 explorer lifted 4". The 4x4 shop that i bought it from said that he based it on a 4" lifted expedition since there's non listed for my year. Well, when it was time to put in the new shock, i foung that it was eye to eye. So on one side, I made my own bracket for the shock to mount onto the frame. (it was basically a bracket from an older shock laying around.) Now here's my question. I went to home depot and bought four 13mm new bolts, nuts and washers which came out to be $1.19. it fit and everything went well. when i got home, my dad told me that those bolts from home depot are cheap and it will break and that i needed to put mechanic screws. Is he wrong or do i have to replace those bolts?
