I didn't think it would take me most of the day but I changed my spark plugs with Autolite XPs, installed a NAPA Belden Max wire set and installed a new NAPA Gold/Wix fuel filter on my '04 XLT V6. I just wanted to say thanks for all the resources I found to help me make my choices for parts and how to install that fuel filter. It was tight under the truck but I think I could really cut my time down on the install now that I know how to disconnect the fuel filter. I used the metal scissor style tool and it worked as mentioned. If anyone else is curious I would be glad to share what I learned to other first timers. Now I know why they charge so much at the dealership to do seemingly simple things. Too bad they have to design vehicles in such a clunky way to make money on service. I love my truck otherwise even if it does have a few design flaws. I can't wait for my next Explorer.
