Install just finished, about an hour and a half, would be 45 mins on a rack.
High quality product, comes with S.S hex head bolts.
Drilled and tapped the pan for an auto meter tempgauge, will hook that up tomorrow.
Four QTs exact drained out of the OEM pan ( plus whats in my hair) garbage can lid catches it all, new pan is 3 QTS over OEM.
OEM heat shield for the cat, after bending the tabs, snaps in place perfectally

Thats looks great. What about the "baffles" inside? I assume there was not problems with shipping or anything. The guy seemed really nice to talk to.

Thats a nice looking tranny pan...... I like that it holds more tranny fluid, and that it even has spot for the autometer sending unit. I bet that will help the tranny last alittle longer. How much did you pay for it and where did you buy it?

Who did U get it from and How Much??

Bought here: click
For $165. Good deal.

The inside is baffled ( sorry Brian, no pics) is supossed to keep the fluid from sloshing around, not a clue as to if it do's.
The pan has a boss for a temp probe, I drilled and tapped it for the 1/8-27 autometer sending unit.
If installed in any 5R55E tranny, you must use the 4X4 filter, it has an extension that go's into the pan.
I think the upside may be better cooling, yet to be proven, the upside for me is that say every six mos, I can drain out 7 QTS of old fluid, and replace it with new.
As a side note, I run a huge magnet on all my oil pans, was not one iota of mettallic matter to be seen, also nada on the OEM pan magnet, thats with 25 K miles

No problem, I just wanted to know if there really was somthing in there. They don't show anything on the website. Sorry, I'm leary of things.

I knew the rest of it, but mine is the 4X4, so its the correct filter for mine. I have replaced a lot of the 4X4 filters over the years. I didn't know the OEM had a magnet. The last (insert large number here) transmissions I have rebuilt didn't have one. I think when I get the SCT back from doug and get paid again, this is the next item on the list. Thanks for the information.

The OEM magnet looks to be a glued on magnetic strip, was clean as could be

Just Back from a 20 mile test run, at Highway speed tranny oil temps run 125, around town in traffic 150, having no previous basis of comparison, have no clue if thats lower than the norm.

I had two of those for my A4LD, the first one I had to cut the baffle inside the pan for the filter, a problem they were unaware of prior to shipping mine. The second one was re-designed for the 4x4.
I had problems with the trans scavenging air in Moab when climbing steep hills, no fluid was being picked up by the filter. I never went 4x4ing that extreme with the second pan so I dont know if it solved the problem or not.

Very nice product, I liked the quality, the extra capacity and the ports for drain and temp sender, I will be getting one of their AODE pans soon.

Drained seven QTs today from the tranny, with the engine oil change, should be full of almost new Merc V

Looks good. Thats about the same temps I'm getting at my external filter. So that shows the cooler inside the radiator does absolutly nothing for cooling.

Thats worth it for the drain plug alone!

Any seat of the pants change, or do we get to see dyno results :D :p

(I actually think it looks nice :))

I hope to be ordering one toward the end of the month. Don't all you guys buy them up or I won't get one. :(

A magnetic drain plug, extra 3 quarts of fluid, a port for temp guage (has to be driled and tapped). You can't beat that. :D

Lmao!

Are you referring to the smell or the utterly striking mugshot which the (evil) moderators (er, dictators? :D) around here require me to have?

(Apparently a stick figure is not enough of a spitting image, although I find it is fairly accurate)

I still have not received my check. :( The guy did send me some pics of the baffles though. They are just a few ridges along the bottom. I can't see how that would help on a steep incline.

Hopefully, I get my check soon.

I did a review of the install on my 5.0 X awhile back. I'm happy with the overall design. The major flaw I ran into is that the drain and temp bungs are less than 1" from the stock exhaust pipe. I cannot install a temp gauge in the intended location, nor can I drain the fluid without getting it all over my exhaust.

would be a cakewalk to install an elbow for the drainplug,The pan is 1/4 inch thick, you can drill and tap it anywhere for a temp gauge sending unit.

I am going to make a posterboard template this weekend (weather permitting) and see how it would fit mine. The guy told me the exhaust is close on some models, so we shall see.
