PO171 Code / terrible idle for my 99 sohc

I just had my CEL come on my 99 4.0 SOHC explorer with 67000 miles. . Yesterday I stopped at my local Autozone and had them check the codes. They gave me the code PO171 and they said it said Lean on BANK1 and the second code was Lean on BANK 2. That was it . . told me they had no idea how to fix the problem. . .mentioned a check up. . .please help me. . .oh yeah my gas milage is terrible and i get a wiff of gas on starting and on morning starts the thing will barely idle at all. . .its terrible first thing in the morning and if it is damp it dies and you have to crank and crank and crank if that helps any.

The problem is probably defective O-rings on the Fuel Injectors. There is a recall but you would have to call the national Ford number to see if they will still hold up to it.

cleaned my MAF and IAC changed plugs and wires and light came back on again. . .got the same codes again at autozone. . po171. . lean bank 1 & 2. . ..I have also noticed that my exhaust sounds a little loud on excelleration like right undre my feet. . would a donut gasket in my exhaust being cracked make my engine run lean on banks1 & 2
