My original one lasted to 190,000 and I just replaced it and the second one lasted a week. Nice tranny! I'm fixxing it one more time and selling it.

have 128k on it and it's just starting to shift hard when you put it into reverse. I think it's these cold alaskan mornings that's doing it. I wish I could get back south.

:chug: :chug:

hey whatever happened to Alaskanjack?

I have hard 190K on mine and not a hint of problems. (Knock on wood!)

the 91 has 156K miles, and the tranny is going out. Not looking forward to replacing it. My 92 has 155K on it, but since it's a 5 speed, I'm not worried about it going out.

'93 A4LD with 272,396 or so on it. Knock on wood.

when i turned 16 i got my X needed to rebuild it. i got it rebuilt. it had a 1 year warrenty and when i was getting 9MPG average (no speeding tickets) i was towing, muddin', and driving fast doing it. anyway i got it rebuilt 2 weeks before the warranty was up for free. needless to say i drive slow and get 18MPG now.

I have 224,000 now on my original factory A4LD. Only thing changed has been the vacuum modulator. And fluid.

I have 159,000 miles, Dad was original owner, original transmission, shifts perfectly and no signes of wear. 1992 XLT.

248K on original engine and tranny.

Yes I also pull a 19' ski boat. I had to install a 2nd Hi performance tranny cooler and Aux 12v fan to keep her happy.

I voted 100-124K. I had one go 101K and die. I got it rebuilt, then had something (haven't messed with it yet) drop the fluid at 138K. I'm on my second Ex, which was driven only once or twice a month for 10 years, but needed tranny work at 56K. So I replaced it with a brand new Ford A4LD-HD. We'll see what it does. Can't say I've had great luck with them so far.
